Swimmer and Family Rules
Swimming is a team sport. Any team is only as good as the character of the people on it.Therefore, expectations are simple:
1. Listen to the coaches.
2. Respect yourself, your teammates, and your coaches.
3. Focus and enjoy the process of improvement and growth.
4. Always do your best!
5. Have Fun!
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.The Dunmoor Diamondbacksin a volunteer run team. The team's success and our children's experience will be based on the level of involvement from our parents. We, as parents, must function as a team. Some will have more on deck responsibilities, some will need to take more hidden responsibilities. But, we all must contribute to the success of our children.
2. The children and then the parents are responsible for making sure their swimmers get to practices and meets on time. At meets, parents should watch the event board, listen to the announcer and know where their swimmers are at all times (it can get chaotic). Please help.
3. Please do not send sick swimmers to practice or meets. Please notify the coaches ASAP if your child is too sick to attend a meet. The lineup and volunteer schedule will need to be changed, so please be respectful of the other swimmers, coaches, and team representative and let someone know you will not be able to attend.
4. There is no smoking or vaping at swim meets or practices (home or away).
DISCIPLINE POLICY
The safety of our swimmers is of utmost importance; therefore, it is imperative that practices and meets are held in a controlled and safe environment. Please make sure that your swimmers are aware of the following:
1. Swimmers are expected to be punctual and remain in the pool area during their practices and meets.
2. If you are not a member of the Dunmoor Swim and Tennis Club, then you and your child may only be at the pool during their designated swim team time.
3. Swimmers are expected to be respectful and supportive of their teammates, competitors, officials, coaches, volunteers, or any other parents/team members.
4. Swimmers are expected to be obedient of authority (coaches, parents, team members/volunteers) and to behave safely.
5. Profane language, indecent gestures, wrestling or horseplay are not acceptable.
*NOTE: If any coach finds that a swimmer is in violation of these policies, discipline will be handled in the following manner:
First Offense – Verbal warning to swimmer and communication with parent regarding swimmer’s behavior.
Second Offense – Notification in writing to parents and immediate removal from the current practice or meet; further suspension may be given, pending severity.
Third Offense - Dismissal from the team for the remainder of the season, and possibly indefinitely, if merited – no refunds will be issued.
