INCLEMENT WEATHER

Care and safety of swimmers and spectators is of utmost importance in the event of inclement weather. If the weather is questionable, the coordinators will monitor the weather, and post an immediate post to the website and also email all parent/athlete subscribers immediately if practice/meets are delayed and/or canceled.

In the event of questionable weather, the referee/starter will delay the meet for 30 minutes if there is lightening or thunder in the area. If the delay lasts longer than 30 minutes, there are several options available. Decisions are based on the continuing weather pattern and where we are in the meet. Depending on those factors; the meet could be delayed further, postponed to another day, or called. These decisions are made by the coaches and team reps of both teams. Any and all decisions are made with the safety of everyone at the meet in mind; and are not made lightly. More information on the Atlanta Swim Association inclement weather policy can be found on their website:www.atlantaswimming.com
