Week 4B-Meet 1 recap and reminders.

  • Our first meet is under our belts. Even with the weather delay and rain, the swimmers looked like they were having fun, which is what the summer swim league is all about. The final score was very so close.  It came down to the wire.  We were tied at event 76 and with 10 events to go, we found a way to WIN!  DUNMOOR WINS!!!  Dunmoor 398- the Falls 385.
  • Weekly Awards:  Congratulations to our Dunmoor Diamondbacks Swimmers of the week: Jason Berry, Kate Maddox, Chase Palfreeman, Charles Hedrick, Emma Holub, Kellen Fain, Evelyn Hedrick and Ben Kaminski!  Great job swimmers.  The Best Western costume award goes to Owen Manning and Megan Evonsion.  Our theme next week is one of my favorites, Superheros.
  • 6/4 RSVPs ARE DUE NOW. If you haven't already done so, please do it now.  :)  Coaches work on the lineups over the weekend, this is why we need availablility NOW!!
  • TOMORROW IS OUR FIRST STROKE CLINIC:  You can still sign up by RSVPing online. The coaches will be working on Freestyle/Backstroke.  These stroke clinics are very beneficial with a low swimmer to coach ratio.  The cost is only $5, payable to the coaches.  It is held at our pool from 9am-10am.
  • We will host our first home meet on Thursday. EVERYONE with a swimmer swimming Thursday will be expected to volunteer.  The volunteer sign up will open Monday morning.  If you do not sign up, one (or two--if there are open spots) will be assigned to you.  Each family is responsible for volunteering 6 times, which averages out to once per meet.  The website keeps track of it all for me so I can easily see who is not keeping up with their volunteering.
  • Congratulations to ALL of our swimmers, coaches and volunteers last night. You all did a fantastic job.  I know it was hectic at first, but we managed to roll with the punches.  I am proud to say we were 1 of only 9 meets in the entire league that were able to finish our meet last night.  Our scrambling paid off!!.  Special thanks goes to Leigh Anne Fink, Clarita Forcucci, and Lori Fain for stepping up and offering to help where needed.  Also thanks to Leigh Anne, Erin Manning, Kim Greenlee, and our ribbon crew this morning for being flexible with their volunteer positions and assisting in areas they didn't sign up for.

Dunmoor Diamondbacks, you are dynamite!!

Sincerely,

Annette
