ASA Championship Meet Recap, THX, Future of Dunmoor S.T.
Congratulations to the swimmers that attended the Georgia Tech ASA meet yesterday. The swimmers were: Mary-Grace Durham, Tory Fahey, Elizabeth Greenlee, Kate Halstenberg, Madelyne Hendrickson, Chase Holub, Emma Holub, Griffin Kiewit, Riley Kiewit, Lucy Liu, Charlotte Lowe, Luke Mehlberger, Elle Perez, Nate Perez, JP Samsel, Holland Steel, Peyton Steel, Kenia Swanson, Trey Swanson, Harper Swearingen, Myles Swearingen. There were so many personal best times. Congratulate these swimmers when you see them. They represented the Dunmoor Diamondbacks extremely well. We had a great experience and I could not be more proud of our group. We also had the best timers there!! Thanks to Steve Mehlberger, Leigh Steel, Lisa Fahey, and Sue Swanson for timing on behalf of Dunmoor. I really appreciate you stepping up to volunteer when help was needed!! While we were there the coaches received our "Runner Up" trophy for the regular season. 4-1 is spectacular, but one team in our division beat us out with a 5-0 record.
Finally, THANK YOU SO MUCH to the families that contributed to my Team Representative gift. I appreciate your generosity and acknowledgement of my hard work. It is an intense eight weeks of work, and thankfully it goes by very fast. This year has been wonderful! I am so proud of the swimmers, coaches and parents. Swimmers and parents worked hard and filled gaps in the lineups and volunteer spots, coaches were responsible, proficient, and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better group to organize.
I am happy to say that there was much discussion Thursday night about how the swim team shouldn't be ran by one person doing everything. I couldn't agree more!! It should be more of a group effort. That is how ALL other neighborhoods do it. (Some neighborhoods have as many as 10 people involved!) A group effort is also how Dunmoor Swim Team has always been managed in the past. It is just too much work for one person. If you are interested in being part of the Swim Team Board for next season, please let me know. I will organize a meeting to go over positions and responsibilities that need to be divided up. I would like to welcome parents from other neighborhoods to be on the Swim Team Board. I would also like to welcome fathers and working parents as well. There are many things that can be done in the evening or organized from individuals outside of Dunmoor.
Thanks so much for a great season. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!
Annette
