Good Evening Diamondbacks!

Great job to all of our amazing swimmers tonight!  There were so many best times that the coaches ran out of beads!  So please make sure to congratulate your swimmer on how awesome they did!  And a HUGE pat on the back to all our kids, the concessions workers made a point of complimenting me on how polite and respectful all of our kids were!  We should be very proud! 

It was a tough meet (we lost by a few points) and we had some challenges with getting to the blocks on time.  The first half of the meet their event counter was incorrect and we discovered that the speaker that was supposed to be broadcasting the announcer to the parking lot was not working. As a result quite a few swimmers missed their events.  If you have a sad swimmer who missed their event due to this let them know that it is okay and really not their fault (we know a lot of kids were checking the event counter - so it is not their fault they missed their event). 

For future meets, please explain to your swimmers to try and get to the blocks a few events ahead of time to make sure they do not miss their events (better to be early than to miss).  Also, our bullpen volunteers were having difficulty locating swimmers - bullpen workers can only get swimmers that are in the bullpens (they can not be running all over trying to locate swimmers).  Ultimately it is the swimmer's responsibility to get to the blocks on time (so parents please keep an eye out and help make sure your swimmer is where they should be).  Fortunately, our final meet of the season is at HOME! 

Attached is the final entry list for our ASA Divisional Meet at Georgia Tech on Thursday, June 30th at 3pm.  Please review for accuracy and email me if any changes need to be made ([email protected]).  Coach Trey has to submit this in Friday by noon.  Also, make sure your swimmer can swim their event legally (if you do not think they can I would recommend switching events as the officials at Tech WILL DQ swimmers with out any hesitancy). 

Tomorrow is our last Fun Friday with donuts.  We will have practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.  Our final meet is at home on Tuesday.  Banquet is at the pool Wednesday.  And ASA Divisionals is Thursday.  Busy last week!  Thank you to all of the volunteers, especially the families that sign up every week (you are very much appreciated)!

Also, swim team pictures are in!  I will be placing them in the swimmer's folders (where their ribbons are).  A few families still owe money (the photographer was nice enough to leave the photos with us and included an addressed envelope for you to mail your checks to).
