Hello Diamondbacks!

CONGRATULATIONS on a wonderful 2016 summer league swim season!!!!  I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July!  And I am sure you are excited that this will be the last email you receive for me for a while!

First of all, THANK YOU so much for the end of season gift you gave me!  I was not expecting anything and I apologize for not expressing my gratitude better at our banquet (for those of you there I am sure you could tell I am not fond of speaking into the microphone and having all eyes on me; and was very surprised by the generous gift).  I truly appreciate all of your thoughtfulness and generosity!!!  It meant a lot!!! And thank you for all of your patience as I worked my way through this season, figuring things out as I went.  THANK YOU!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to our wonderful team!  Our team received a trophy (quite large for those who have not seen it) for having a winning season this year!  Also, our team received an additional trophy (also large - not sure where these are going...) at Championships for coming in second place in the silver division at Championships!!!  We had 33 swimmers attend Championships this year, with 12 swimmers making the cut and returning to finals and even a number of top ten finishers!!!  It was a very exciting meet and we hope to have even more swimmers attend next year! 

If you are interested in being a team parent for our great swim team please send me an email ([email protected]).  We need one parent to step up and volunteer with me next year (it will be easy as I will be doing majority of the work)!  The plan is to have two team parents every year so one parent is training the next one (you would volunteer for two years with team parents having overlapping years).  This will make for a smoother transition for everyone!  Please take a moment and consider as everyone really should take a turn at leading this team.

Also, if you have any ideas or changes you would like to see for next year please email those to me as well!  I know I have been taking notes through out this season on some changes I think would benefit our team and would be happy to hear any you might have as well. ([email protected])

For those swimmers who were unable to attend our banquet your ribbons and medals (12 and unders all received a medal for the season) are in your swim team folder.  The box containing all the ribbons folders is in the lifeguard room at the pool (on the right on the middle shelf).  At your convenience please stop by and collect (figured this was the easiest way).  Listed below are the swimmers who have items in their folders.  Those swimmers that received a trophy, are 13 and up and missed the banquet, etc will receive an email separately from me on how to collect their items.
