Supporting our Coaches and Swim Team

Hi Dunmoor Diamondbacks Families,

I wanted to take a moment to address something that is very important to me.

Our coaching staff is made up of young people who genuinely love swimming and enjoy working with your children. They give their time and energy each day to help our swimmers improve, build confidence, and have fun. Like all coaches, they are learning and growing in their roles, and I want to make sure they have a positive, supportive environment where they can succeed.

Recently, we've had a couple of instances where coaches have been yelled at by parents during practice or a Meet. I understand that questions or concerns may come up throughout the season, and I always want to hear them. However, I ask that any concerns be brought directly to me rather than addressed with our coaches.

If something isn't going the way you expected, or you have a question about coaching decisions, lane assignments, practices, or anything else, please come find me or send me a message. I'm happy to listen, talk through concerns, and work toward a solution. Our coaches should be able to focus on teaching and encouraging the swimmers without worrying about being confronted by adults.

We all share the same goal: creating a fun, safe, and positive swim team experience where our swimmers can learn, grow, and enjoy the season. Thank you for helping us model respect and sportsmanship for our kids.

I appreciate your support and look forward to a great rest of the season!

Thank you,

Coach Dawn
