Updated Big Fish Little Fish and details for the Chartwell Meet

Hi Diamondbacks! Thank you to all who came out and made our night so successful! I think we all learned why we don't cancel a meet just because of the forecast or a little thunder. What a beautiful evening it turned out to be and we had so much fun with all of you!

Another lesson- make sure you are signing your child and yourself up for the meets! There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and once the deadline for the sign ups have passed and we have merged with the other team, there is little we can do to add a person. Please go on to Swimtopia as soon as you can and sign up for all the meets that you are able to attend. Use the comment box to tell Coach Lily about what strokes your child really wants to do or what they aren't ready for yet. Communication is key! If we don't know you are coming, we can't sign your child up for events.

Ok, there are my take-aways from tonight. On to our first real meet tomorrow!

Theme: Red, White and Blue

Chartwell: Thursday, May 28th Arrive by 4:35 pm so we are ready to check in and go!

Allow extra time for parking. Please mark your child's arm with Event/Heat/Lane and stroke before you get to the meet. Write their name and age on their back as well. This helps all of the coaches make sure we have the correct kids in the correct lanes! Here is a video to help you mark their arms: Marking arms

Parking is available in the lot, but at a minimum. Parking is also available on Rod Road, but only along one side (opposite to the clubhouse) of the street (please note the "no parking" signs) and at Newtown Park, which is just across the street (worst-case scenario).

Burgers, hotdogs, drinks, and other concessions are available for cash/Venmo. There will also be King of Pops available.☺️

Our team will be set up beside the tennis/pickleball courts. No one is allowed to play on the courts - there will most likely be some pickleball matches going on. Spectators will want to bring lawn chairs, as we do not have much seating on the deck.

WHAT TO BRING TO A SWIM MEET (LABEL ALL PERSONAL ITEMS)

1. Team swimsuit, cap, and goggles.Having an extra cap or goggles packed in a bag is also a good idea. These items tend to rip or break at the most inopportune times!

Caps- we will provide one per swimmer. Keep up with these as you will need them for each swim meet. Here is a video about how to put them on, please help your child with this and googles. It is too much for the coaches to put on everyone's swim cap and googles for them before the meets. Please help your child with this so we can help them with their strokes and last minute pep talks!

2. Towels- 1-2 towels per swimmer; one to sit on and one to wrap up in

3. Portable chairs for parents

4. Spirit wear or clothes to put on in between races or when swimmers are finished racing.

5. Entertainment for swimmers such as games, cards, coloring books, books (electronics around a concrete pool deck and water is usually not a good idea).

6. Money for concessions. Meets will always have some sort of food available for purchase.

7. Coolers are allowed for additional drinks or healthy snacks at our home meets. They may or may not be allowed at away meets. NO GLASS! Please drink responsibly.

8. Your OWN Sharpie Marker if you want to allow your child to draw body art.

Can't wait to see you all tomorrow! Go, Diamondbacks!
