Meet tomorrow: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parents,
First Home meet tomorrow!
First, it will be VERY HOT. Please make sure you pack some water. We will have water for our volunteers and some water for the kids. But, please help. Also, IT WILL BE VERY HOT. HELP EACH OTHER. We have 19 people signed up to Volunteer, but we may need many more so everyone can take breaks. Please see Jessica tomorrow during the meet. She will be organizing everyone -- but SHE will need HELP too! We will need everyone to pitch in tomorrow. PLEASE!
Second: My rules / ruminations
- Our team area is located under the large shade at the turn end of the pool. We will setup some additional tents to create more shade, but please try to keep your kids there. If you want to bring folding chairs to setup, please do! They can be great additions to helping everyone find a good seat.
- Our coaches will organize the kids in this area for their events. If they are not in this area, we WILL NOT go looking for them in the bathroom, playground, etc.
- If you want to sit with your child in another area, that is great! But, then, you will need to get them behind the blocks in time for their events. (Or, get them under the awning when we are lining them up)
- We will try to be lining kids up 3-4 Events ahead of when they are scheduled to swim. Please help get your kid to the right area so we can help them swim.
- We do not want our kids playing on the playground. It is an easy distraction and an easy way to miss their events. (The other team may be -- but not us, please.) If you want your kid playing there, that is fine. But, again, you are taking on the responsibility to get them where they need to go when they need to be there.
- The meet projects to be 4 hours long. We will cut that time down by combining events, but please be prepared for a long meet. I do not want it to go that long. We will keep things moving -- another reason to keep our kids in our area.
- The parking lot by the pool will be occupied by the other team's tent and the food trucks. Please plan on parking elsewhere.
Lastly, we need your help. The coaches will work hard to provide a positive experience for your child, but we need you on our side. Please encourage your child to listen and help us. The beauty of this sport and this type of event is that it becomes a community event. Let's be the caring supportive community that we want.
Thank you very much,
Mark
