Practice and other things
Parents,
I have not checked the temperature today, but I am assuming it will be around what it was yesterday -- warm! We had covers on last night, and the sun is shining brightly now. We will be ready to go this afternoon.
A few other thoughts:
1. Swim shirts. If your child will be wearing a swim shirt while swimming, please make sure it is tight (think second skin). If the shirts are loose, they end up adding weight and making it much harder for your child to swim. (I know a college coach that has his kids put on shirts to add resistance and weight while training!).
2. Boys swim trunks (shorts-style). These have the same effect as the loose swim shirts. They can add a lot of weight and resistance. If your child is a very strong swimmer, it will be fine. If they are not, please consider having them wear a brief or jammer-style swim suit. If your swimmer is younger, I recommend a brief as this provides the least resistance and offers your kid the chance to swim the most unencumbered.
