This week...

Parents,

We have another big week.

First, we have our first Swimmers of the week. This year we will announce 1 boy and 1 girl as the swimmer of the week following each meet. A sign will be placed in their yard for the week to celebrate them. Our coaches had a very difficult time with this because everyone swam so well!

Congratulations to Nathan Spruell! Nathan had 5 great races on Thursday, but on top of that he has been working hard at practice to get better each day.

Congratulations to Harper Swearinger and Rei Tanaka! Harper and Rei share the award this week after both stepped up and swam 2 legs of a relay at the end of the meet when we were short on swimmers. They did so with a smile and enthusiasm. The relays were not able to score (because what we did isn’t legal), but their efforts allowed two other girls to have the opportunity to participate on a relay.

Second, if you are looking for additional coaching for your children, please reach out to the coaches for private lessons or sign up for their stroke clinics here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050d4faaa82ba7ff2-stroke

The coaches are eager to teach and the first clinic starts on Tuesday! The clinics have been opened up to swimmers of any age!

We have a Home meet on Thursday (please confirm your status today because I will start to make lineups, and volunteer if you haven’t already). Also we have team PICTURES on Friday June 4th at 9am.

We are also looking for a few more volunteers for the meet. Sign up if you haven't already.

Like last week, we have made some adjustments to the meet events. This week, all of our relays will be mixed gender! So, it will be a little different and hopefully more exciting. I will continue to work with the other coaches to try new events and ways to give our kids a very unique and fun swimming experience. Please help me out by volunteering for the meets.

In place of concessions we will have a food truck at the meet. Tacos for this week.

And, we will have a RAFFLE at the meet. The raffle supplants the money we would have made on concessions with less headaches. Courtesy of Arena, we have a bag of gear to raffle off at each home meet. One with men's clothes and one with women's. Tickets will sold for $5 or 5 for $20. Here is a list of the prizes (each bag has over $100 of gear included):

1. Arena Bag,Arena youth goggles,Men's USA national team swim shirt (Adult S), Men's USA national team shorts (Adult S), and USA latex swim cap

2. Arena Bag,Arena youth goggles,Women's USA National team tank top (Adult S),Women's USA National team shorts (Adult S), and USA latex swim cap

*** Winners will be announced at the end of the meet. Winner does not need to be present. We will ask for a phone number on each ticket and then will call the winner if not present for them to arrange pickup at another time.

And…

That’s all Folks!

Sincerely,

Mark
