BIG email with a lot of details.
Parents,
Here are the details for the meet tomorrow and then other important things.
CCR address: 2500 Club Springs Drive, Roswell, GA 30076.
After pulling in through the CCR gates, our pool and parking lot are to the right.
Meet begins at 5:30pm. Our team warmup will be from 4:50-5:10pm.
SEATING: Kids will all sit together on the far side of the pool under the pergola. See diagram attached. (We will organize kids for events at this spot).
Your parent seating section will be located in the grass area of the shallow end of the pool. The areas along the side of the pool are standing spectator sections only. Bring your own chair to sit in the grass area. No outside coolers are permitted for members or guests.
PARKING: Please use our pool parking lot and then spill over to the lot across from the pool. There is no parking in the cul-de-sac. The main driveway to the clubhouse will be marked No Parking as well.
SPECIAL: The playground area and other pools (mushroom portion of the main pool, dive pool, slide pool) are closed to all before/during/after the meet.
FOOD: There will be a buffet available until 8pm. Payments can be made by cash or card. They will have other concessions (alcoholic beverages, kids drinks, chips, candy, ice cream, smoothies, etc.) for sale at the snack bar.
VOLUNTEERS: We have 10 great people that have volunteered for the meet on Thursday. They will be helping with all of the jobs, but I hope that if you are not signed up you might offer to give them breaks every once in a while. Bring them food, bring them drinks, help. I hope to create a shared culture of responsibility for all things on this team. While we have 10 people that have stepped up to be at the meet and work the whole time, I know we have others that will be there for many parts. Please do not be shy about asking to stand-in for a while. I will be reviewing the jobs with the 10 volunteers, and then they will be able to teach it to you when you ask to help.
COVID: They have not given us any protocols for Covid. Please use your judgment. I recommend wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing if you have not been vaccinated. (All of the coaches have been vaccinated).
NEXT ISSUE:
The ASA Championship meet will happen either Friday June 25 or Saturday June 26. They haven't given us specific dates/times yet due to unknown numbers of participants. But, they are also asking for entries from each team in 2 weeks. Therefore, PLEASE go online and signup your child for the championships (online signup is open) if you want to or plan on attending. It will be easier to delete you from an entry than add your name to an entry.
Championship Swim meets should be fun, exciting meets where the kids have a chance to swim in a bigger pool with more kids. It doesn't matter and it shouldn't matter if they are trying to win or trying to dive in for the first time. It is all about creating a positive experience for them. I highly recommend you attend the meet if you can.
Bad news about ASA Champs. It appears there will likely be restrictions on number of parents each team can bring / have in attendance. We don't know those numbers yet. That is a big unknown. Again, I encourage you to sign up for the meet and we can work on the details later if needed.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time.
Sincerely,
Mark
