An Introduction - Dunmoor Swim Team
Hello Parents,
My name is Mark Fino and I’m going to be taking over the Dunmoor summer swim team management. After a long tenure of great leadership from Heather and Jennifer, they have decided to pass the torch and I am excited for the opportunity.
My family and I just moved from Cleveland, OH to Dunmoor in July. My wife and I have two 6 year old boys in 1st grade at Dolvin Elementary. We already are feeling like this is home. I’ve been a swimmer since I was young. I started in a summer team like Dunmoor. I then coached a small team like Dunmoor in high school and college. After college, I coached at two country clubs, summer camps, and two colleges. I have a wealth of experience working with all ages and with a variety of programs. I am excited to help with Dunmoor and build a fun and supportive team where our children can find joy in a community of swimmers.
That being said, I am not only reaching out to introduce myself but to also ask you all for your support and help. I will not be able to carry this load by myself. As all of this has just been solidified, I don’t have a clear idea of exactly what I/the team will need, but I am imagining volunteers to help coordinate certain aspects of the team (i.e. social coordinator, awards coordinator, etc.). So to start, I’d very much like to hear from you all. If you are willing to help in any way, please reach out (it doesn't mean a strong presence around the pool; and it doesn't mean you even have to have a child on the team!). One of the ways I built a very successful college team was creating a strong parent volunteer network. They supported and provided a structure that allowed their children to have fun and thrive while swimming. (We had parents helping and staying involved even after their children graduated!)
To those that I have met already, thank you for being such a welcoming community to our family. It has been a wonderful experience. I look forward to meeting and getting to know so many more of you.
