ASA Update for 2020 Season
Dear Diamondbacks Family,
We hope this email finds you safe and well. We have some new information to share regarding the 2020 Summer Swim Season. Atlanta Swim Association (ASA), which is our governing body, has been working hard to come up with a plan to still have a season. We have added the attachment to this email for you to read. To summarize, they think that we will be able to start practices in mid-June, and have virtual meets in July. Several safety precautions will be put in place by coaches and coordinators to ensure a safe season. Many of these precautions will be required by ASA. As your Dunmoor Swim Team coordinators, we are committed to trying to save this season if at all possible. To do that, we will all have to make some changes and become flexible and open to new ideas, such as the virtual meets. We are planning a ZOOM meeting with all of our coaches and coordinators on Thursday night to ensure this will be a feasible option for us as a team. We remain positive that a modified season will happen. In the attached pdf ASA email, ASA has noted that they hope to make a final decision by late May, and the latest decision date by June 8th.
